I have done this a few years too. I look at it two ways. If it is nice and sunny, I take my time and enjoy the stops and scenery. If it is cold I head out as fast as possible. I have some friends who got involved with the planning this year. Hopefully in the years to come it will get better and grow. They were surprised how under-promoted this event was. I also use this ride as an early season warm up for some of the other rides I do throughout the short Michigan riding season. Thanks for the input and happy (and safe) riding!
