24 Hour Mountain Bicycling World Record Set on Daytona Beach

On Tuesday April 29th, Mike Unklesbay, a 41 year old Florida endurance bicyclist set a world record for off-road miles ridden in a 24 hour period.
He battled hot, humid temperatures and fierce lightning storms, but completed the 24 hour trek through 2 high tides forcing him to ride on soft sand to reach a total of 284 miles.

Unklesbay road a prototype mountain bike designed by Xtreme Fat Tire Bikes with 100mm rims that featured a 29er wheel set with Vee Rubber Tires along with a patent pending rim and bike frame. This Bike was manufactured in Deerfield Beach Florida and will be manufactured there in the future .

The entire event was filmed throughout the 24 hour period and is being made into a documentary.

Also if you go to the below link which is Guinness World Record Facebook link and get to the April time line you well see even more , this is a record that I don't think will be easily broken as he was only 60+ miles away from breaking the 48 hour record at 23 hours 20 min . and he and all the others that tried out the only two 100mm 29er Fat Tire Bikes in the World said there is no way he could have done this on any other bikes , please check out or Race Series link that will start in Late June or July and our website as well see below :
