People who shop with bikes usually have some sort of pannier, back pack or basket. They load the stuff into such carriers, then upon checkout (which lanes are wide enough for electric wheelchairs) remove them to be paid for. Nobody would hassle someone loading their bags unless they have exited the door with no intent of paying.
