i forgot that added rotational weight
also affects acceleration
and this is the most significant effect

and when moving faster than say 30 kilometers per hour
or around twenty miles per hour
the aerodynamic penalty is also quite significant

once you get rolling
though
fat tires roll damn near as well
as skinny ones
