I would suggest a Specialized Roubaix SL4 with Shimanlo 105 group set for a good all around road bike. I've got the Roubaix elite when they were still offering the Shimano 105 Triple set up. It's a very smooth, comfortable and relatively lite road bike. When I started doing triathlons, I added shorty triathlon bars to the bike and it performed very well.

I now have a dedicated triathlon bike. It's definately faster but not nearly as comfortable or stable as the Specialized Roubaix. When I want to to for a long fun ride and don't want to get beat up, I always take the Roubaix! Like riding a Cadillac!
