Optimal PSI

I am hearing/reading very different opinions on optimal PSI - reading online, forums and LBS. I am 5'8 135lbs, normally not so skinny but lost about 20 lbs last year from being ill (acid reflux) and cycling is keeping me from gaining it back. Anyway, my LBS says run 100 in the front and 110 PSI rear. These were on 28mm Armadillos I purchased at the store. I found the ride very "harsh" on the Armadillos and lowest I went was 90 PSI. Now I am running 23mm Vittoria Zaffiro slicks. Changing to the Zaffiro was a huge difference, way more comfortable and traction.. I am mostly on pavement. So now I pump up to 100 PSI and ride for two days, the second day is prob at 85-90 PSI by my guesstimate.

So what would be the optimal PSI for my weight? Just wondering how reliable are those charts recommending PSI for rider weight. My LBS says 100 but I see some of those charts going down to 55ish front for my weight. TIA
