Newbie Question Concerning Seats/Seat Post switching...
Proud new owner of a Fuji Crosstown 2.5. I had promised myself I would work some OT and get a new bike if I kept up with an exercise/eating program for 6 weeks (takes me about 3 or 4 weeks to really set a habit). 6 weeks in and down to 298 from 312 already.
My parents and my in-laws had been keeping up with my progress and surprised me with the bike as an early birthday gift and to encourage me to keep up the weight loss. They knew I had been focusing my research on that bike, so they pulled the trigger for me at the LBS. I'm very lucky.
May not be the perfect bike, but I'm very pleased so far. Only thing I don't care for is the seat post that came with the Fuji. I actually like the seat (or saddle, I'm still learning), but the seat post is "suspended" and quickly bottoms out any time I sit on it. Really makes it hard to get in a comfortable position. To be honest, even if I only weighed 150 I still don't think I'd be a fan. Any how...
I still have an old GT Outpost Trail that I outgrew height-wise back in high school. It has a nice, simple, solid seat post. Would it be possible to mount my Fuji seat on the GT seat post and use it on the Fuji?
If everything fits, I'm good to go, right? Or is there something else I should be looking out for.
Great forum, and thanks for the help!
