What Would You Do?

I’m training for my first century on Sept. 20 and as of today my longest training ride has been 50 miles. This is my last real weekend to train before the century as I will be traveling out of the country in late August and early Sept. My next long ride won’t be until Sept. 13-14 and I prefer keep my mileage in the 50-60 range with only a week prior to the century.

My dilemma is this coming weekend (Aug 23) there is a 50-mile Fondo in the mountains that would be a great event and workout. Would it be better to do a 70-75 mile ride for saddle time instead of the fondo followed by a 40-45 miler on Aug 24 or do the fondo with the 40-45 miles on Sunday and not worry about a high mileage ride in prep for the Century?
