I just priced a whole new drivetrain today. SRAM and Truvativ cranks, chain rings, cassette, FR & RD, trigger shifters, chain, etc. Came out to about $485 not including tools (crank puller, bb tools, whatever) and S&H. My bike cost a lot less than that and is 15 years old. Plus I'm thinking of powdercoating it black. So why shouldn't I just buy a new bike? I don't know...
