I'm in the same group as well. I'm a runner and new to cycling. When I got my bike, the LBS set the saddle height. Silly me didn't realize that the seat clamp wasn't secure and the seat post slipped to its lowest position under my weight. After a half-dozen rides I could feel some pain on the right side of my right knee. That was back in late July. I took most of September off from running and biking but my knee felt the same. Fortunately my knee doesn't bother me at all when I run or cycle in low gears. Just wondering when I'll be back to 100%. What have your experiences been? The ironic thing is that I took up biking to avoid knee problems from running every day. My knees have been fine from years of running, but 2 weeks into biking I get problems. Go figure.
