I've been looking at recent Craigs List ads, and it seems like vintage Schwinn Varsities and Continentals have all but disappeared in this area. Finding a Varsity that has not been modified in some way has been somewhat of a challenge to me. I have checked EBay, and have seen that their prices have been going up in recent years. So, they may be a little more desirable than I thought. I am looking at one as a possibility, but the handlebar stem is seized. I asked the seller to spray some lubricant down the hole of the neck, hoping that there's a chance it can get moving again. If that can't be done, I'm afraid that bike will be unsalvageable. This is sad, because the frame had fit perfectly when I straddled it. I am fairly certain it would have made one fine winter project bike.
