You could cut half an inch of the grips away with a razor blade then put the brake lever there. That's if you like the grips a lot, if you don't just replace the grips with ones that are shorter and put it on.
i've done this move. i have some odi longnecks on my bwitch bars and think i could get a goldfinger (dia compe) on there too. or the smaller one. tracksupermarket has some solid choices. i found what i wanted there and then just ordered it on amazon so as not to pay that crazy Japanese shipping.
