At 54, My First Century at the LAF RftR
Hooray!!! Only in my third year of riding, but yesterday, at 54 years, I did my first century at the Lance Armstrong Foundation Ride for the Roses here in Austin. I rode 101 miles in 6 hours 12 minutes, averaging about 16.25mph. It was a beautiful day for a bike ride with Lance and about 6,500 of his closest cycling buds. The ride was a celebration of the LAF Peloton Project reaching it goal of raising $7,000,000.00!
For all of you like me who are getting into this sport of road cycling at an age a little past our prime, you can do, just get out there and do it. If I can do it, you can do it. Ride On!
