I am dragging up this old thread because I am trying to find a definitive answer to this. Most people say that a friction shifter wont work with sram because of the 1:1 ratio, while others say it will, but I have yet to find anyone who has actually tried it. I would like to find someone who has actually tried using a friction sifter with SRAM who can confirm whether it does or does not work.
