Greetings, new to the forums here. 6'0", ~205, 33 yrs. Goal is only to spend more time riding, if I lose weight that's great. Used to enjoy running but had a sarcoma removed from my leg last year and took a bunch of muscle with it so running hurts now. I enjoyed riding immensely when I was a kid and got back into it this spring.
For clarity, don't take "used to enjoy running" as "I used to run". Generally, I've avoided exercise my adult life. Biking manages to accomplish the exercise without feeling like I'm "working out". Just enjoy the time spent outdoors. Stuck at the moment on a mid-eighties Raleigh road bike that is a touch too big, looking to get a mtb soon.
