You may not know this, but LA is quite a large city.
That's exactly what makes me glad I don't live there. Too many people, too many cars, just not my cup of tea. Both St. Pete and LA are ranked as "bronze medal" bike friendly cities by the League of American Cyclists, so your assessment is likely true. I like the small town feel of St. Pete though. I'm not a big city guy.
