Because he's a teacher, I'm sure he's going to be looking at cost and wanting to keep it economical. I'm thinking two separate light units will be cheaper.
I think that's the best answer. A to-bright flashing light is obnoxious but more importantly obnoxious to you the rider. It just doesn't work.
