I hang out everywhere (well, perhaps not winter cycling as I haven't quite grasped the concept of 'winter' just yet). There are some very nice trails in the vicinity of Murwillumbah (south of here - Murwillumbah, the economic, political, cultural and social hub of the known universe) 
...you should take a trip someday just for the winter riding. Its an experience unto itself...
although I would take a beautiful sunny summer day anyday.
