I ended up sticking with the AW2s and liked them well enough. I can't say I'm in tune enough to really notice big differences in tires that are similar to begin with. I easily put more than 3000 on the back tire and close to 4000 on the front. No flats, or maybe one I've forgotten about.
I bought a new bike in September and it came with Schwalbe Lugano 700x25. So far they've worked well (about 1800 miles so far) and I may just stick with them for now. I saw a deal on Amazon for 2 tires and 2 tubes for like $35 or something.
