Just plan to swap out the bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, brake pads, freewheel cog and wheels.
A pity the cheap steel on the 1980s Schwinn Madison made it such a versatile fixie. The quality has declined then. Most fixies are hi-ten steel. With flashy colors and what they charge them for, I'd buy one in black with a quality frame instead of pretty colors.
