I've thought about this in the few days I've been using it; if I get hit, will the camera record up to the point where it takes the hit? If not, will data recovery and AVI header reconstruction fix it?

Even if the atc-1000 does not record for the few seconds after impact it can still record right up until the time of. Which means the potential for getting the liscense plate number is greater if a person has one of these.
How are you going to experiment? Are you going to sacrifice a camera to this project?
