single speed with double or triple crank?
Ok, I am trying to build a single speed c-cross/commuter on the super-cheap. I've noticed it seems hard to find decent quality used single/track cranks as cheaply as doubles and triples are available (I'm mostly looking on ebay). This is a newbie question for sure, but is it possible to successfully run a singlespeed by using the big ring on a double or triple? Or should I just bite the bullet and pay for those Sugino XDs I've been eyeing?
