Good stuff!!!

I have no bike right now, it's going to cost about $1000 though when I get it. (See my post in cyclecross if you want to see what I'm going to get)

I also have no renters insurance, but I was planning on getting it in the fall. I can't imagine that it would be too expensive. The sum total of all my stuff is probably about $5000 in value.

So now I know that those theft guarantees are worthless and that I need to lock up to something as good as the lock I'm using. Good stuff to know!!

Given all of this, what would you recommend? How about a decent Kryptonite or Specialized U or cable lock depending on what strikes my fancy online.

Although it seems silly to me to pay so much money for a bike that is going to be lightweight, then add 3lbs by carrying a bike lock around with me all the time. At night the bike is coming INSIDE my apartment. Just during the daylight I’ll have to park it near the engineering building.

Thanks,
