Lanternerouge

I have been riding the same roads of my area for years now and have encountered thousands of cyclists along the way. Most are friendly and cordial and will exchange a greeting as they pass by. On occassion, I will encounter a person off in the distance. As he gets closer, I will always make some kind of a gesture; "hello", a wave, "nice day for a ride", whatever. What kind of irritates me are the people that ignore you as if you're not there. I have done my share of racing, and have had many intense rides, but I always find time to greet a fellow cyclist. I may be the one to give you a tube one day if you get a flat. At least say hello. Is anyone else annoyed by fellow cyclists who seem too busy or self-important to say a simple hello as they pass are being passed or as they are passing in the opposite direction? maybe I am just being sensitive.
