Laugh with me
worked my butt off yesterday building this new fixie. I found the frame and cleaned it up, an old Schwinn world, red, to go with my red rimmed ma3s, with the black surly hubs. It was hot looking.
I'd broken the chain to adjust it to fit the engagement ring and the 17t cog in the rear. In my haste I forgot to pinch, or close the chain. I hauled it to the street and right infront of work in front of a porch full of my clients, in full bike kit, I place my foot on the pedal to stand, roll, and swing my leg over and ride off for home. Well, the chain snapped and I went down taking the bike with me. I lay for a moment trying to figure it all out and if I was hurt, my pride was all.
When I got up and looked the bike over I'd tacoed my front rim. After taxes cleaned me out I don't have anything for a new wheel, so I suppose I'm going to be building a wheel.
It really was funny, I was so full of myself and that red bike.
