1)a True track bikes have a higher BB than a standard road bike..

1)b Several/many of the current 'entry level" "track" bikes have road geometry and thus lower BB's

2)a If you were riding one of the real banked tracks(typically 250meter and shorter wtih banks up to 45-50 degrees) then you would need the higher BB's. BP Velodrome is not one of those severely banked tracks

2)b Length of cranks are also important in addition to BB when you are trying to determine if you would have pedal strike.

3) If you ride your current fixie on the street and can take turns at speed and not have pedal strike, I would not worry about it at Brian Piccolo..


And most importantly, I have NEVER seen nor ridden on Brian Piccolo, so take all this as IMHO.
