maybe buy some automotive brake/contact cleaner from an Autozone/Checker place and clean your disc and spray onto the pads to clean them too. this may or may not help. rubbing alcohol is lame. i am not sure why this is so prevalent among bicyclists.
at one time or another it had to have been mentioned by someone in a magazine or something and people freakin' took off running with it.
