disc brakes are not necessary heavier than v brakes.... there are quite a few which hover around the 350 gram mark, complete with everything.... now how much is a v brake set with cables, noodles lever brakes all mounting bolts .....????

p.s. its not the weight why i prefer disc brakes, its the smooth modulation and low maintenance.
