i certainly have nothing against nice components, but why buy expensive stuff that you don't really seem to know if you even need/want?

99.9% of riders won't notice a lick of difference between a $30 shimano bottom bracket and a $130 phil. 98% of riders won't notice the difference between a $20 tange levin headset and a $120 chris king. 95% of riders won't notice the difference between a forumla wheelset and a DA NJS wheelset.

i'd go the IRO route - pick up those cranks and wheelset for cheap bucks, maybe spend a few more dollars on some nitto bars and a decent headset.
