I spoke with the bike shop and they pretty much told me not to worry about it. They said usually when you fall the bike goes one way and you go another. It surprised me since they seemed like I was foolish for being concerned that I have no clearance and I have to lean when standing with the bike since it is a little uncomfortable with the top tube pushed against me to stand straddling the bike.
