- for small receivers w/good coverage and battery life i like the ICOM R-5 and the Yaesu VR-120D (dirtbags from Florida Van Lines stole my 120D, a wonderful handheld wideband receiver, on my last household move)...
- now i use a Yaesu VX-2r and a Comet SMA-24 w/a Nashbar frame pump strap on the stem, or an ICOM IC-t90a clipped to the apex of cabling on the bars...
