Read up on the vehicle code in relation to bikes in your state before doing "whatever you want"....many state mandate that a rear brake capable of skidding a wheel is REQUIRED.

Last thing you need is getting hassled or getting a fine over not having a rear brake. Plus a lever, tektro caliper, and some cable/housing is not very pricey at all.
