Photo Storage methods

I'll probably shoot over 900 photos on our next tour and won't be keeping them on the compact flash cards. For backing them up I just picked bought a 60GB, battery powered hard drive that has the ability to read cards. While it can be used as an external hard drive, it doesn't require a computer to operate.

I haven't had the chance to test it but will in this final month before we head for the hills of Swizterland. I'm also thinking about taking a small laptop computer but haven't fully commited to the idea.

There are many options for storing digital images while on the road. Seemingly more and more everyday. What's your storage & backup approach?
