Is there a BMX track in your area?

Go there, ask the first 12 year old kid you see to show you.

You've really got to see it done, then mimick what they do.

One tip I used when teaching my wife is to first learn to pull up the back wheel with her feet.

I'm assuming you know how to do a wheelie. What you want to do is a rear wheel wheelie. Roll along, point toes down, in one quick move, lean forward, push the bars forward and pull back and up with your feet, (by pushing down and back then up). Practice this first, and it'll teach you how to pull the back wheel up with your feet.

Then do the J-Hop moves!
