Make sure you check your headset for proper tightness after straightening your stem. Only loosen the two bolts on the steerer clamp to tweak it back straight -- if you also loosen the bolt on the top of the steerer that will slacken your headset since that bolt is for adjusting the headset preload and doesn't actually hold the stem in place.
