While I can say I probably only understood the top 2% of what you're talking about, I feel like buying you beer until you explain it all. CogSci and that ilk is super interesting.. I need to read more. I've read some Oliver Sacks and also "Mind Hacks" by O'Reilly Publishing.
So the understanding is at a minor level, but the caring is far from nonexistent.
