I'm glad that this is being discussed. I have been wondering about this chainring ever since seeing these pictures on Cycling News. The second image clearly shows champagne 75's which only come in 144. Also, I don't see any of the ramp pins normally seen on the 130 bcd 3/32 shimano tt type.

So I speculate that this is indeed a 144 bcd track chainring. I mean clearly the teams and this messenger are not modifying the bolt patterns on the chainrings. Also, and this is a moot point because of the Sugino pic, but why encounter chainline issues using the old dura ace double road crank on a track bike-with all 3/32 no less...

Euro-Asia, which imports the normal Shimano chainrings does not have this enigma on their website. Sorry I don't have any specifics but I thought I might help out a little.
