Nikos; those DuraAce (600?) friction components are very reliable units-if yours are in excellent shape. I think you could find a frame fairly easily to swap to, almost any frame would work; then you could sell the old frame. But this could be more work than it's worth-but that may be the fun of it!! Also the 5 speed freewheel could be upgraded to either a 6 or 7 and Shimano makes the 7 I know of and maybe the 6 yet; the 7 would obviously make your bike into a 14 speed-not a bad upgrade for under $30. You may either have to spread the rear dropouts a little in a worse case situation, but all I had to do with mine was to redish the rear wheel a tad.
