I've run early hayes mags (awesome), early hayes comps (equally awesome) recent mags (...adequate) and hayes hfx9 (decent for me anyways for xc) and juicy 5's (best yet for everything) and juicy 7s (didn't keep em, they weren't any different than my 5's)...

The only brakes I could lock with my left hand (missing fingers and all that) was the juicy. I have never had luck with hayes for pure unadulterated power
