the higher plane

Hi Folks,

Glad that I found this site. I'm a long-time enthusiastic rider who feels that biking is truly a transcendental experience, ergo my nickname here.

I have a cruiser bike with foot brakes. Simple, very effective engineering. Fantastic ride, exceptionally durable, virtually zero maintenance issues. Much more enjoyable and intuitive than handbrakes. Good for hills too, as long as you're not in San Franscisco.

I'm a big believer in the bike as an adjunct to total redesign of our urban space and how we live. I detest the automobile for regular commuting. Wherever I live I always advocate more and wider bike lanes, pathways exclusively dedicated for cyclists, greater appreciation of cycling as commuting alternative, improved safety for cyclists, promotion of bicycle safety education and awareness among the general population, especially motorists (truck drivers need an extra course).
