#2 myself, and yes it shows the scar, make sure the person doing the cutting knows about the scars or the blade will bang them and it hurts.

My wife gives me a hard time about doing this. She says it makes me look dumb when she does it; something about not knowing where to make the edge. So I spend 13 bucks every month to get it cut the same way. I can't see the difference between when they do it and when she does it. Barbers are the biggest scam.

Once summer is here, I cut it down to the metal of the blade every week or two myself. easy, no fuss and no muss. Just apply a drop or two of Castile soap and hose off in the garden or the bathroom. I smell minty clean!!! I'd cut it with a razor razor but with my 3-d scars that would probably not work out well.
