For aggresive riding, which size/compound and which tire would you recommend?

I don't like the Specialized tires on my Rockhopper so I want a new set of tires and I like Kenda Nevegals a LOT (but I'm open to any other suggestions), I was wondering what size would you recommend front and rear for my riding style which I would classify as rough and aggresive, it involves everything from 5-7 foot drops/gaps (both "natural" and "urban" like stair gaps and what not), dirt jumps, trials and some all mountain and xc style trails, do keep in mind I want a beefy tire but also I don't want anything that is exccesively heavy since, I was thinking maybe a 2.1/2.35 combo (wider tire on front) on the Stick-E compound with folding bead but I'm still not so sure. I want tires with good traction, good cornering and that hold up well against stuff at high speeds. What other tires besides the Nevegals would you recommend?

My budget is around 30$ or so per tire, Jenson has the nevegals for 33$ each and that is about the max I would stretch my budget.
