I dont know if it helps or not but I read somwhere that its good habit to once you have inflated the tire all the way. Deflate it then pump it back up to help evenly fit the tube and help prevent and get rid of kinks.
I do this since it cant hurt but I dont know if it really helps or not.
I do this as a matter of routine. It does help and is advisable (as well as a coating of talc).
I really don't get how fastidious people tend to be on the matter of rim tape. I don't know what kind of rim tape I have on my bikes because its covered with a couple of layers of electrical tape (very pretty yellow tape on one
) and as good as forgotten.
