Anyway, I put 'em on and set out to run some errands, and at some point it dawned on me that, riding around with my little bell, my lights, rack, and now my grocery panniers, I have become such a dork! I might as well just don the reflective safety vest, get some white tube socks and yank them all the way up to my knees, and be done with it.
Who cares what any one else thinks? Just smile and wave at all the people filling up their behemoths at the corner gas station. Last fall, I rigged up a grocery cart behind my Mongoose and it looked completely ridiculous. I didn't much care as it got the job done and since I did not have a car, I did not have to rely on the bus or a cab to go do my shopping.
I have long since stopped caring what other people think about my gear. Their opinions of are no account in the equation. I do what works.
