Bicycle road racing is a particular unforgiving sport. You can train your butt off, drive for hours, pay exorbitant entry fees, and flat out of a race and ruin a brand new $40 tire two minutes into a race.

Parker Omnium in Sept is USCF and will have a Cat 5. DBC Events this spring had a citizens category and really great courses. Entry fees were very reasonable: $10 for crits and $20 for road races + no license required. If they switch to A, B, C categories next spring then it would effectively get rid of citizens since C would be Cat 4/5/citizens.
