I've done this before. Works very well together. FWI have been told, the spacing in C10 shifting/der. is the same as S9 cassettes.
I've been eyeing switching to C10 Ergos/rear der. and leaving the rest of my S9 drivetrain intact. No style points, but I'll get the best of both worlds: easily available (inexpensive) cassettes and chains plus Ergo shifting!
