I'm just getting into touring, did my first tour
last weekend. I was surprised at how slow I ended up traveling for most of it. I didn't have a spedometre, but I know my average speed was pretty slow.
I'm sure part of this was due to the hilly terrain, my 700x35 tires + beefy wheelset and (most importantly) me getting tired. I know touring is a slow paced endeavour, but I was surprised. Is this pretty much to be expected?
