my dog prefers to go off the path, we only unleash him waaaay out in the woods, we never do it on popular trails or city paths, only on the backwoods trails where you don't and won't see another person all day. and then he runs off into the woods and does his business and comes back, shibas by nature are fairly clean animals, he's also cute as heck..
