The Lemond and Star Trac have leather brakes, and if you oil soak the brake with 3in1,
the similarity to real biking is better than a real bike on a mag trainer, and better
than other spinbikes. very handy for 4 second sprint repeats. feels like the road.

keep it oiled up and it'll last forever (and get really hot during use) making the
tension curve perfect


I have yet to find any other braking or resistance system that comes close
to the real-feel of the Lemond or Star-Trac. I am talking about the ones with
the single brake on the circumference surface of the flywheel, activated with
a turn-screw dial
