Decal Removal '05 KHS?

I've got an '05(that was 'da yellow/blue deacal?) I'm planning to purchase... Are the decals clear coated..I've seen lots of tape on the few yellows I can find online...I have a heat gun...just kinda curious before I plan this build if I need to figure doing some paint.
